Issue With Ruger LCR in .357, Cylinder would not latch during IDPA match.

Well I was trying to Shoot this Oceanside Practical Pistol Club IDPA Match through a second time with the Ruger LCR in .357 to create more content for PHP_Shooting YouTube channel and for Precision High Pressure Media website. I started out on Stage 4 with the Revolver and everything was going well until the last round for the last target of the stage (except for user error of not fully resting the long double action pull trigger). On the last round need to complete the stage I could not get the cylinder to latch back into place. I tried looking to see if there was any material/FOD impeding any of the mechanisms and saw none.

After putting up my ammo I took the gun to the safety area to inspect the gun which after working the assembly back and forth quite a few time I was able to lock the cylinder back into place. I then reopened the cylinder and closed it again; it was still stiff and seeming to bind up. I repeated this several times before putting the gun back in its case.

When I got back home after the match I examined the gun again and the mechanism seem to be working as normal all be it still a little tight but much improved from what you can see on the video. If you have any thoughts on what could have caused this or solution to the problem please post them in the comments section below.

If I can’t figure out the issue or if it happens again I will be calling Ruger. I will say I am disappointed with the failure of the Ruger LCR in .357, since their guns are usually bullet proof and is the reason why I buy Ruger.

Thanks for your input and thoughts in advance.
